SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head was castled for a second consecutive duck in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-handed batter was outdone by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Mitchell Starc in the ongoing Qualifier 1 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 21.

Head came into the playoffs after a golden duck at the hands of left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh in SRH's win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Hyderabad. The opening batter ended up being dismissed in a similar fashion to hand KKR their first breakthrough in the clash.

After attempting a drive off the first ball, Head tried to have a go against Starc's outswinger but connected with thin air. The ball sped through the massive gap and hit the stumps straight up to make a mess of it.

Have a look at the dismissal right here:

Travis Head has been dismissed similarly in the past against Starc in Australia's domestic circuit.

The left-arm pacer had an opportunity to dismiss Rahul Tripathi a couple of balls later, but Sunil Narine could not judge the catch well at point. He has found early movement which has caught the SRH top order in a serious fix.

SRH struggling in Qualifier 1 as Abhishek Sharma follows Travis Head back into the pavilion

SRH have been reliant on their explosive opening duo throughout the competition, but find themselves in deep trouble with both of them being dismissed inside the first couple of overs.

Abhishek Sharma tried to get going despite the wicket in the next over against Vaibhav Arora. Off the penultimate ball of the second over, the left-handed batter tried to go over the infield on the offside as Vaibhav Arora swung it away from him around the wicket.

However, the batter could not get the required elevation, and could not get past a leaping Andre Russell at the edge of the circle. As of writing, SRH are tottering at 13/2 after two overs, with Nitish Reddy and Rahul Tripathi sharing the crease.
