Team India have left the Green Park Stadium and returned to their hotel as the start of the second day's play of the Kanpur Test match got delayed due to rain. In a video, the Indian team bus is seen leaving the venue on Saturday morning (September 28) and heading towards the hotel as the forecast isn't promising for the play to begin.

Here's the video:

Only 35 overs were bowled on Day 1 of the second Test after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. As a result of gloomy weather and the entire ground remaining under covers due to heavy downpours, the match officials called off the play at around 3 pm IST on Friday, September 27.

India pick three wickets as Bangladesh score 105 runs on a rain-affected Day 1 in Kanpur

After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh lost both their openers in the 13th over with 29 runs on the board. Pacer Akash Deep, playing just his third Test, dismissed Zakir Hasan (0 off 24) and Shadman Islam (24 off 36) to put the visitors on the back foot.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto then joined hands with Mominul Haque as the duo stitched together a crucial 51-run partnership for the third wicket. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Shanto, who scored 31 runs off 57 balls with the help of seven boundaries.

Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim are at the crease, with the former remaining unbeaten on 40* in a knock laced with seven fours. Besides Akash Deep and Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowled on Day 1.

With the first session of the second day's play already lost, whether any play is possible on Saturday remains to be seen.

India lead the two-match Test series 1-0 after winning the Chennai Test by 280 runs.
