Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav displayed a classy gesture towards Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah after his dismissal in his final T20I. The veteran perished for a single-figure score at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 12. The 34-year-old batter shook hands with Mahmudullah while he was returning to the pavilion in the third and final T20I.

Mahmudullah, who announced his T20I retirement prior to the second game of the series, came out to bat at No. 6 during the chase. However, the spin-bowling all-rounder faced only nine balls for his eight runs, holing out to Riyan Parag off Mayank Yadav's bowling.

In a video released by the BCCI, the Mumbai-born cricketer was seen shaking hands with the 38-year-old. Mahmudullah was also Mayank's first T20I wicket, becoming so in the opening game of the series when he holed one out to deep point.

Notably, Mahmudullah had got the better of the Indian captain as Najmul Hossain Shanto called for his couple of overs for off-spin. The right-handed batter went for the sweep shot but miscued it to Rishad Hossain at deep mid-wicket and walked back for an enterprising 75 off 35 deliveries.

Nevertheless, the Men in Blue put on a power-packed batting performance after opting to bat first. Sanju Samson spearheaded it with a 40-ball hundred and shared a 173-run stand with Suryakumar before departing for 111. Samson, who struck his maiden T20I hundred, leathered five consecutive sixes in an over off Rishad. Hardik Pandya and Parag played admirable cameos to lift India to 297/6 in 20 overs.

Despite Towhid Hridoy (63*) and Litton Das (42) making promising contributions, Bangladesh fell well short of the target as the home side won by 133 runs. They have also swept the series 3-0. Ravi Bishnoi, who had replaced Arshdeep Singh in the final T20I, finished with figures of 4-1-30-3.

Mayank snared a couple of wickets, while Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy took one each.
