Sune Luus completed a brilliant caught and bowled dismissal to send back Lorna Jack-Brown in the Women’s T20 World Cup match between South Africa and Scotland in Dubai on Wednesday (October 9). Jack departed for nine runs off 15 balls to leave Scotland in a spot of bother at 56/7 in the chase.
The dismissal came in the 12th over of Scotland’s chase. Luus bowled a full-length ball and Jack tried to play it back past the bowler but Luus showed brilliant reflexes. She dived to her left to complete the brilliant catch.

South Africa beat Scotland by 80 runs in a one-sided Women’s T20 World Cup clash on Wednesday, October 9.
Opting to bat first, the Proteas put up 166/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Marizanne Kapp starred with the bat, scoring a quickfire 43 runs off 24 balls with the help of six boundaries. Openers Tazmin Brits and skipper Laura Wolvaardt also chipped in with 43 (35) and 40 (27), respectively.
Captain Karthyn Bryce, Rachel Slater, Olivia Bell, Katherine Fraser, and Darcey Carter bagged one wicket apiece.
In response, Scotland were bundled out for 86 in 17.5 overs. Katherine Fraser (14 off 21) and Ailsa Lister (12 off 13) were the only two batters to reach double digits. Nonkululeko Mlaba was the pick of the bowlers, picking up three wickets, while Chloe Tryon and Nadine de Klerk scalped two wickets each. Ayabonga Khakha, Sune Luus, and Annerie Dercksen bagged one apiece.
With the win, South Africa jumped to the top spot of the Women’s T20 World Cup points table in Group B. They have two wins in three games but equal points with second-placed England, who have won both their first two games. On the other hand, Scotland have now been eliminated after a hat-trick of losses in the ICC event.
