A spectator took a brilliant catch as USA batter Nitish Kumar smashed a six off Reece Topley in the 2024 T20 World Cup match against defending champions England. The game is underway at Kensington Oval in Barbados (Sunday, June 23).
Nitish hit a magnificent six off Topley in the fifth over of USA’s innings. The left-arm pacer bowled a length delivery, and Nitish smashed it over long-on for an 81-meter six. A USA from spectator took the perfect catch in the stands.

Nitish scored 30 runs off 24 balls, including two sixes and one boundary. The right-hander was eventually cleaned up by Adil Rashid in the 11th over.
As for the match, a clinical bowling display from Chris Jordan helped England bundle out USA for 115 in 18.5 overs. Jordan finished with exceptional figures of 4/10, including a hat-trick. Sam Curran and Adil Rashid also bagged two wickets apiece. Reece Topley and Liam Livingstone settled for one each.
Apart from Nitish Kumar, Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh also chipped in with 29 (28) and 21 (17), respectively. Steven Taylor and captain Aaron Jones were other USA batters, who contributed in double digits to take the team past the three-figure mark.
England must beat the USA by a fair margin to stay in contention for a place in 2024 T20 World Cup knockouts
Jos Buttler-led England must beat the USA to stay in the fray for a place in the top four of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Both West Indies and England have won one out of two games in Super 8. If both teams win their remaining matches then net run rate (NRR) will come into play.
Even Group 1 table-toppers, South Africa, aren’t guaranteed a place in knockouts due to a poor NRR despite having both their first two games. The Proteas must win their last Super 8 match.
Meanwhile, the USA will be keen to register a consolation win after losing to South Africa and WI in their first two Super 8 games. The co-hosts had pipped Pakistan to reach the next round.
