Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) opener Shaqkere Parris showed his immense strength by smoking a colossal maximum in the 19th Caribbean Premier League 2024 match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) on Wednesday, September 18. The game was played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The memorable moment occurred on the fifth ball of the third over when Gudakesh Motie bowled a full delivery. Parris swung across the line, sending the ball soaring over the deep mid-wicket boundary and onto the roof of the stadium for a remarkable 124-meter six.

Here’s a video of the moment:

The 21-year-old scored a run-a-ball 29, including two boundaries and as many sixes. In the chase of 149, Sunil Narine (11), Nicholas Pooran (19), and Kieron Pollard (8) couldn’t contribute much, as the Knight Riders lost half their side for 89 in 15 overs.

Andre Russell and Tim David formed an unbeaten 60-run partnership off 26 balls for the sixth wicket, leading TKR to victory by five wickets with four balls remaining. Russell finished not out with 36 off 15 balls, smashing one boundary and four sixes, while David scored 31* off 24 balls, aided by one four and two sixes.

A brilliant bowling effort helped TKR restrict GAW to a low total

Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. Akeal Hosein made an early impact by bowling out Kevin Sinclair for nine runs. Tim Robinson contributed 34 runs off 28 balls, including four boundaries.

However, Guyana’s middle order struggled, with Shai Hope (5), Shimron Hetmyer (7), and Moeen Ali (11) failing to make significant scores.

Romario Shepherd played a stellar innings at the end, scoring 51 runs off just 24 balls, featuring three boundaries and four sixes. Dwaine Pretorius remained not out on 21 off 25 balls as the Amazon Warriors finished at 148 for 7 in their 20 overs. Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil took two wickets each for TKR.
