West Indies' paceman Shamar Joseph flexed his big-hitting skills on Day 3 of the second Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham as he smacked Gus Atkinson for two sixes in the same over. However, the highlight of that over was the youngster's six behind square that hit the roof, causing some tiles to fall.
The incident occurred in the 107th over of the innings, bowled by Atkinson. The West Indian welcomed the right-arm pacer with a six by playing a pull shot. With the 25-year-old delivering another short-pitched ball, the 24-year-old latched onto it and sent it way behind square for another six. With the tiles breaking due to the shot, a few spectators escaped some injuries. The Guyanese clattered another boundary to collect 16 runs off the over.
Day 3 of the Test started with the tourists being 351-5, trailing England's total by 65 runs. However, Chris Woakes sent back Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, and Jayden Seales fairly quickly. Atkinson, meanwhile, dismissed Kevin Sinclair, but the West Indies managed to surpass the home side's first-innings total.

Mark Wood, who bowled with fire on Day 2, finally got a wicket as Ben Stokes introduced him for a new spell. Although the youngster got a lucky boundary off the edge of the bat early in the over, the youngster chipped one to mid-on in the 5th delivery as Atkinson took a straightforward catch. The wicket ended the 71-run partnership between Joseph and Joshua Da Silva, who missed out on a well-deserved hundred and stayed unbeaten on 82.
However, he will take heart from powering the visitors to a handy 41-run lead. England's first innings saw them amass 416 as Ollie Pope starred with a century, while Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes struck half-centuries. The hosts will need a solid batting performance in the second innings too.
