Scotland batter George Munsey became the first-ever player to score a century in the Zim Afro T10 league. The match took place between Harare Bolts and Durban Wolves at Harare Sports Club on Thursday, September 26. The left-handed batter smashed an unbeaten 100 runs off 38 balls at a stunning strike rate of 263.16, a knock laced with 10 sixes and six boundaries.

With the ton, Munsey also scored the highest individual score in the T10 tournament, going past Robin Uthappa (88* off 36) last season. Rassie van der Dussen (81 off 32) holds the second-best figures with the bat in the ongoing 2024 edition.

Munsey achieved the landmark in the 10th and last over of Harare Bolt’s innings. The 31-year-old smashed a six and took a single off Colin Munro to reach the landmark.

George Munsey helps Harare Bolts set a 174-run target for Durban Wolves in Zim Afro T10 league

George Munsey’s century helped Harare Bolts post 173/2 against Durban Wolves in the Zim Afro T10 league on Thursday. Janishka Perera also chipped in with 24 off 16 balls. Dawlat Zadran was the only successful bowler for Durban, picking up two wickets but conceded 36 runs in his overs.

At the time of writing, Durban Wolves were 82/4 after six overs, with Colin Munro and Innocent Kaia at the crease. Richard Gleeson has been the pick of the bowlers, returning with two wickets so far.

A win will help Harare Bolts consolidate their top spot in the Zim Afro T10 league. They have won four out of their five games so far. The playoff will be played on September 28 with the final scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 29.
