Off-spinner Saransh Jain delivered a superb ball to clean up a well-set Prithvi Shaw on Day 4 of the 2024 Irani Cup match between Mumbai and the Rest of India (ROI) on Friday, October 4. The game is being played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The dismissal occurred on the third ball of the 34th over. Bowling from round the wicket, Saransh delivered a tossed-up ball on the off stump that held its line after pitching. Prithvi Shaw came forward to defend it slightly inside the line, but the ball beat his outside edge and clipped the top of the off stump. Shaw played an impressive innings, scoring 76 runs off 105 balls, including eight boundaries and one six.

On the fifth ball of the same over, the off-spinner delivered another straight delivery aimed at the off stump. Shams Mulani made the mistake of leaving it, allowing the ball to strike the off stump. He was dismissed for a two-ball duck.

Here’s a video of both the dismissals:

At the time of writing, Mumbai were 142/6 after 39 overs, leading by 263 runs, with Sarfaraz Khan (8) and Tanush Kotian (10) at the crease.
