Sam Curran took a hat-trick in The Hundred clash between Oval Invincibles and London Spirit at Lord’s on Sunday, August 4. The left-arm pacer dismissed Liam Dawson, Olly Stone, and Andre Russell off 89, 90, and 91st deliveries to complete a hat-trick of wickets.

With this special achievement, Curran has joined Imran Tahir and Tymal Mills in the men’s edition of the 100-ball tournament.

Sam Curran finished with exceptional figures of 5/16 to register the third-best bowling figures in The Hundred. He is only the sixth bowler to take a fifer in the tournament. He also starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 51 off 22 balls, hitting six maximums.

Curran has now become the second-highest wicket-taker this season with nine scalps in four games. With the bat, he has 73 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 158.69.

A clinical all-round performance from Sam Curran helped Oval Invincibles beat London Spirit by 30 runs in The Hundred on Sunday.

Batting first, Sam Billings-led Invincibles put up 147/5 in their allotted 100 balls. Dawid Malan starred with the bat, scoring 38 off 29 with the help of one maximum and six boundaries. Skipper Billings and Jordan Cox were the other batters to reach double digits. Olly Stone, Liam Dawson, Nathan Ellis, and Matt Critchley bagged one wicket apiece for London Spirit.

In response, the Dan Lawrence-led side were skittled out for 117 in 95 deliveries. Michael Pepper (20 off 21), skipper Lawrence (27 off 18) and Shimron Hetmyer (20 off 21) got starts but failed to take the team past the finish line. Adam Zampa starred with the ball, finishing with exceptional figures of 5/16, while Will Jacks and Nathan Swoter took one wicket apiece.

Sam Curran will next be in action against Manchester Originals on Tuesday, August 6.
