Notably, several Team India players went to their hometowns, including Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and head coach Gautam Gambhir, after the first Test in Chennai finished inside four days. The hosts won the match by a mammoth margin of 280 runs. The players and coaches will reportedly assemble at the team hotel in Kanpur in the next 24-48 hours.

All eyes on Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in IND vs BAN 2nd Test

All eyes will be on Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the upcoming second Test against Bangladesh. The trio failed to deliver in the first of the two Tests. They are key to India's success against New Zealand and Australia in upcoming Test series.

Rohit registered below-par scores of six and five in his two innings, while Kohli managed six and 17 in his two innings. The latter also fell victim to a wrong LBW decision as he decided against review in the second innings. Meanwhile, Rahul failed to score big despite getting well set (16 off 52) in the first innings.

Meanwhile, centurions from the opening Test, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant would be keen to build on their heroics with the bat. All-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will also look to exploit the spin-friendly conditions in Kanpur. The duo delivered with both bat and ball in the first Test.

Notably, the hosts have retained the same squad for the second Test following a big-margin win over Bangladesh in the first Test.

India squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal.
