After a dull opening three days of the second India-Bangladesh Test, Rohit Sharma injected some much-needed life into the contest with a sensational one-handed catch on Day 4 (Monday, September 30) in Kanpur. Bangladesh resumed their first innings on 107/3 after two washed-out days.

Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim in the sixth over of the morning and brought wicketkeeper Litton Das to the crease. Litton struck three glorious boundaries to get himself set on 13 when a rush-of-blood moment ensued.

He danced down to a length delivery from Mohammed Siraj and looked to flay it over the in-field on the off-side. However, despite the lack of perfect timing, Litton seemed to have enough to clear Rohit at mid-off until it wasn't to be.

The Indian skipper leaped in the air and grabbed a stunning one-handed catch over his head, much to the delight of himself and his teammates.

Here is a video of Rohit's extraordinary catch:

The dismissal placed Bangladesh in a bit of bother at 148/5 with the well-set Mominul Haque joined by the experienced Shakib Al Hasan. The duo have added 22 runs to take Bangladesh to 170/5 in the 56th over.

Team India battling bad weather to complete a fifth consecutive home Test win

Despite 98 overs expected to be bowled on Days 4 and 5, India's chances of winning a fifth straight home Test might require a miracle, considering the game situation.

After losing the first England Test earlier this year in Hyderabad, Rohit Sharma's men won the next four outings to complete a 4-1 win. They continued their home dominance with a massive 280-run victory in the opening Test of the ongoing Bangladesh series.

However, with a day and two sessions lost due to bad weather, the prospect of an Indian win seems unlikely from the current position.

Meanwhile, should Bangladesh avoid defeat, it will be the first time in five Tests in India that they would have done that, having lost the first four meetings in India.

The Bangla Tigers have also lost all but two of the 14 Test meetings against India with the two being drawn outings at home in 2007 and 2015.
