Leicestershire's Louis Kimber hit 43 runs off Sussex and England pacer Ollie Robinson on the fourth day of the ongoing County Championship Division Two match at Hove on Wednesday, June 26. In what was a nine-ball over from Robinson, Kimber smashed fours off all three no-balls. The right-hander smashed two sixes, three more boundaries, and took a single in the record-breaking over.

Kimber also brought his century in that over. He was 28 runs short of the milestone before the over, and here’s how it went: 6, 4nb, 4, 6, 4, 4nb, 4, 4nb, and 1. Notably, a no-ball adds two runs to the batting team's total in the County Championship.

With that, Kimber registered his name in history books of first-class cricket. The 27-year-old broke the previous record of the most runs scored in an over, held jointly by Sir Garfield Sobers (Nottinghamshire) and Ravi Shastri (Bombay), who scored 36 runs each. The two players had smashed six sixes in games against Baroda and Glamorgan, respectively.
