Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was recently spotted celebrating the birthday of a friend. He was last seen in action during the 2024 Indian Premiere League (IPL) season, turning out for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The legendary cricketer relinquished captaincy just before the start of IPL 2024 and handed over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad. He played down the order throughout the season and chipped in with vital cameos for CSK. Across 14 games, Dhoni scored 161 runs at an impressive strike rate of 220.55.

A friend of MS Dhoni took to Instagram and gave a glimpse of his birthday celebrations, which the star cricketer attended.

"He can easily sit in an Australian dressing room and easily captain it" - Matthew Hayden on MS Dhoni

Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden recently gave his opinion on the qualities that MS Dhoni the ideal captain. He felt that Dhoni could have easily led a star-studded Australian team due to his humble and team-first traits.

During an interaction with Sports Vikatan, Hayden said:

"Dhoni is exactly what I was saying before. He can easily sit in an Australian dressing room and easily captain it because he believes that he is not bigger than anyone else. He'll collect bags, he'll throw cricket balls. He's just a very humble individual. And he works hard at the team and not on promoting Dhoni."

The former CSK opener continued:

"You'll never hear him telling people how great he is or what he's achieved. That is Dhoni's X-factor. You look at Australia and go '25 million people. How did they win the World Cup against us?' Dhoni... he just finds a way to galvanize people together and does it in a way that is nothing about ego, not about self-promotion."

Matthew Hayden played under MS Dhoni's leadership at Chennai for three seasons between 2008 and 2010. Across 32 games, the Southpaw scored 1107 runs at an average of 36.90 for the Chennai Super Kings, including eight half-centuries.
