India ace pacer Mohammed Shami hilariously jumped on the bandwagon of the viral social media trend ‘Cheen Tapak Dum Dum’ with his junior players on Saturday, August 10. Shami is undergoing rehab after recovering from his ankle injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

For the unversed, ‘Cheen Tapak Dum Dum’ is a phrase, which originated from the popular kid’s animated show ‘Chhota Bheem’. The signature catchphrase was uttered by a villain character named Takiya, who displayed his magical powers. The meme has become quite popular on social media over the last few weeks.

Sharing a funny video on Instagram, Shami captioned his post:

“Catching the trend wave; Cheen Tapak Dum Dum. Tune in and vibe with us.”

Mohammed Shami on road to recovery for Test series against Bangladesh - Reports

Mohammed Shami has made considerable progress on his road to recovery from his ankle surgery that forced him to miss the IPL and the T20 World Cup.

As per ESPNCricinfo, Shami is the favorite to play in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh in September. The report added that Shami might play in the Duleep Trophy to prove his fitness. The speedster resumed his bowling in July.

Last month, India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar provided an update on Mohammed Shami's fitness. He said (via ESPNCricinfo):

"Shami has started to bowl which is a good sign. September 19 is the first Test and that was always the goal. I don't know if that is his timeline for recovery, will have to ask the guys at the NCA about that.
“There are so many Tests coming. We will need some depth. Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj have been around for a while, these are the obvious ones. But there will be some conversation around it. Got a lot of first-class cricket coming up so we can build guys up like that."

Apart from the two Tests against Bangladesh, India will also host New Zealand for a three-match Test series in October. The Rohit Sharma-led side will then travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November.
