[Watch] "Michael, you've had tremendous sex" - When a slip of tongue by a journalist bemused Clarke and left Steve Smith in splits

Michael Clarke-led Australia dominated the 2015 ODI World Cup and ended up winning it at home, beating New Zealand by seven wickets in a one-sided final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Before that, they hammered India by 95 runs in the second semifinal at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The mood in the Australian camp was upbeat after the co-hosts of the tournament booked their place in the final of the 2015 World Cup. Further, a hilarious exchange was witnessed between Clarke and a journalist at the post-match press conference after the Australia vs India semifinal.

The then Australian captain attended the press meet with Steve Smith, who was named Player of the Match for his 105 off 93 balls. At the press conference, BBC reporter Stephan Shemilt had a slip of tongue moment, which led to a hilarious interaction between him and Clarke. This is how the communication went:

Reporter: "Michael, you've had tremendous sex... success [correcting himself] as Australian captain. [Everyone in the room breaks into laughter]. You might have had that [sex] as well, I don't know."

Clarke: "How well do you know me? That's a question for my wife."

Smith found it hard to control his laughter amid the hilarious exchange of thoughts between his captain and the journalist. Most members of the press were also in splits during the funny chat, while Clarke could only blush as he gave a witty reply to the unexpected and inadvertent query.

Michael Clarke top-scored for Australia in the 2015 World Cup final

After Australia cruised to victory in the semifinal of the 2015 World Cup against India, they came up with another commanding performance to get the better of New Zealand by seven wickets in the one-sided final at the MCG.

Bowling first, Australia did an excellent job to bundle out the Kiwis for 183 in 45 overs. Mitchell Starc knocked over Brendon McCullum for a duck and finished with figures of 2-20. Left-arm pacers Mitchell Johnson and James Faulkner claimed three wickets each, while Glenn Maxwell picked up the scalp of Martin Guptill.

Clarke led from the front for Australia in the chase. He top-scored for the team with 74 off 72 balls, hitting 10 fours and a six. Aaron Finch was dismissed for a duck, caught and bowled by Trent Boult. However, David Warner (45) and Smith (56), combined with the Aussie skipper, lifted their team to World Cup glory.
