[Watch] "Merko kya dekh raha hai?"- Rohit Sharma's hilarious one-liner to Washington Sundar during India vs Sri Lanka first ODI

South Africa v India: Final - ICC Men
The stump mic once again caught Rohit Sharma at his best

Team India captain Rohit Sharma is known for his hilarious one-liners and has made a reputation for unleashing such gems on the stump mic. One of these one-liners was heard on the stump mic when he was speaking to off-spinner Washington Sundar.

During the 29th over of Sri Lanka's innings, Sundar bowled a fuller delivery which was just dug out by Dunith Wellalage. The bowler appealed for an LBW decision as he felt it wasn't bat first.

While the countdown was on in the background for the DRS, Washington Sundar seemed to ask Rohit Sharma whether he felt it hit the boot or the pad first and then the bat. Rohit, who was standing at first slip, was perplexed as he didn't have a front-on view of the batter, and here's what he said:

"What?? You tell me, Merko kya dekh raha hai? (Why are you looking at me?)"

Here's the video:

It proved to be the right decision from the Indian captain to not go for the review as replays showed that the ball had hit the middle of Wellalage's bat.

Sri Lanka claw their way back after India land early punches

India were asked to bowl first and they got off to a fantastic start as they kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. They had Sri Lanka in deep trouble at 101/5 and that's when Dunith Wellalage walked out to bat and decided to change the tempo of the Sri Lankan innings.

Luck did favor Wellalage as he survived a couple of close calls, but he continued to play his shots and was rewarded for it. Wanindu Hasaranga walked out to bat after the fall of the sixth wicket and has so far managed to bat at a similar tempo.

Sri Lanka will know that with the ball turning, any score around the 220-run mark will be a competitive one.
