Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed KL Rahul with a smart delivery, getting him stumped in the ongoing Test against India at Green Park, Kanpur. Mehidy noticed Rahul was stepping out of his crease and attempted a big shot. He then pulled his length back and delivered the ball way outside off.
Rahul, who was way out of his crease, tried his best to smash the ball towards the off-side boundary. However, he ended up missing it and wicketkeeper Litton Das made no mistake to take off the bails.

KL Rahul showed intent during his stay on the crease, smashing 68 runs off just 43 deliveries with seven fours and two sixes. Most importantly, he stitched an 87-run fifth-wicket partnership with Virat Kohli, which helped India take a first-innings lead in the Test.
KL Rahul scored his fastest Test 50 in Kanpur
As mentioned above, Rahul batted with an aggressive approach, and it helped him score his fastest 50 in the Test format. The right-handed batter took only 33 balls to touch the milestone at Green Park against Bangladesh.
All of his previous half-centuries in Tests came at a strike rate of less than 100. His previous fastest 50 in Tests came off 57 balls against England at the Oval in 2018. In 2016, Rahul reached 50 off 58 deliveries against West Indies at Kingston.
Rahul's blitzkrieg helped India take a 52-run first-innings lead in Kanpur as they declared at 285-9. It will be exciting to see if India can pull off a win in Kanpur despite zero overs being bowled on days two and three.
