Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne took a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Ben Charlesworth in the T20 Blast fixture between Glamorgan and Gloucestershire in Cardiff on Thursday (June 20). The special effort from Labuschagne helped Glamorgan extend their stronghold over Gloucestershire, reducing the latter to 45-5 while chasing 141.

The dismissal came in the 10th over of Gloucestershire’s innings. Mason Crane bowled a full-length delivery and Charlesworth went for a big shot towards long-on. Labuschagne sprinted to his right before making a full-stretch dive to take a brilliant catch, leaving everyone in awe. He also looked surprised as he celebrated the catch with his teammates.

Labuschagne is one of the best fielders in Australia. He has pulled off some excellent catches and executed superb run-outs in both red-ball and white-ball cricket.

On the batting front, Labuschagne scored 18 runs off 15 balls with the aid of three boundaries. The right-handed batter has amassed 119 runs in six T20 Blast games at a strike rate of 123.95, including a half-century.

Labuchagne failed to find a place in the Australian squad for the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup. He, however, has been a regular in ODIs and Tests. He will likely be in action during a five-match ODI series against England (Away) and a three-match ODI series against Pakistan (home) in September and November, respectively. The Aussies will also take on India in a five-match Test series at home from November to January.

On the domestic front, Labuschagne is set to replace Usman Khawaja as Queensland's captain next season.
