South Africa bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen collided at the boundary ropes as the ball went for a six in the 2024 T20 World Cup match against the West Indies in Antigua on Sunday, June 23. Luckily, the two SA players escaped unhurt.
The incident took place in the eighth over of the West Indies innings. Aiden Markram bowled a tossed-up delivery on the middle stump, right in the slot and Kyle Mayers lofted it straight down the ground. Rabada and Jansen converged from long-off and long-on and jumped into each other as the ball cleared both of them.
Rabada seemed relatively unscathed and Jansen also got back on his feet but the latter left the field and didn’t bowl his remaining two overs of the game.

WI set a 136-run target for SA in 2024 T20 World Cup Super-8 clash
A clinical bowling display from South Africa restricted the West Indies to 135/8 in their 2024 T20 World Cup Super-8 clash.
The hosts got off to a poor start as Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran departed early, leaving the Men in Maroon in a spot of bother at 5/2.
Roston Chase starred with the bat, scoring 52 off 42 balls with the help of two sixes and three boundaries. Kyle Mayers also chipped in with 35 off 34, hitting two sixes and three boundaries. The duo put on an 81-run partnership for the third wicket. Andre Russell and Alzarri Joseph were the other batters to reach double digits.
Tabraiz Shamsi emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the Proteas, returning with figures of 3/27. Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada also scalped one wicket apiece.
In response, SA were 15-2 after two overs when rain interrupted play.
A minimum of five overs need to be bowled to constitute a game; one point each will be shared if there’s a washout. WI will be eliminated if the match gets abandoned or if they lose. Defending champions England have already qualified for the knockouts from Group 2 with SA and WI fighting a for a place in the semifinals.
