Southern Brave's Jofra Archer bowled a brilliant set after The Hundred 2024 Eliminator clash against the Birmingham Phoenix ended as a tie. The all-rounder dismissed the red-hot Liam Livingstone off the very first ball of the 'Super-Five' to set the tempo for his side at The Oval, and secure a place in the final against the defending champions, Oval Invincibles.

The inaugural champions came back from the dead as Akeal Hosein recovered in his final set to defend three runs off four deliveries to send the contest into the Super Five. Archer was tasked with bowling the all-important set while Liam Livingstone was on strike after having scored a brilliant 55 runs off 34 deliveries in the second innings.

Archer bowled a wide full toss to start off with, which Livingstone looked to carve beyond point. However, the right-handed batter found Leus du Plooy to depart for a golden duck. Have a look at the dismissal right here that turned the game around:

Archer conceded only one boundary in his set to restrict the Birmingham Phoneix to just seven runs. The duo of Kieron Pollard and Chris Jordan polished off the runs with a ball to spare to propel the team into the finals.

"Just relieved to be honest" - Jofra Archer

The all-rounder was adjudged player of the match for his efforts which included the final five heroics and a spell where he conceded 29 runs off 20 deliveries. He had dismissed Dan Mousley during the run chase as well.

"Just relieved to be honest. I thought I gave it away in the second last over against Livi. You just gotta commit to it (plans). Some days it happens for you, some days it doesn't. We got 11 match-winners, and the guys not in the 11 are match-winners themselves. Lots of physio and maybe some meds (recovery before final)," Archer said during the post-match presentation.

The Hundred 2024 final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 18 at The Oval. Both finalists are aiming to be the first-ever two-time champions of The Hundred.
