Jasprit Bumrah continued his carnage with the ball in the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park in Kanpur on Monday, September 30. The speedster struck twice by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam in back-to-back overs after Lunch on Day 4.

Bumrah first got rid of Miraz with a back-of-a-length ball that straightened after pitching. Mehidy tried to defend it from the crease but could only manage an edge to Shubman Gill at first slip. The fielder didn’t look in complete control but managed to hang on to the ball. The ace pacer then cleaned up Taijul with a similar delivery from around the wicket that crashed into the top of the off stump as Taijul was stuck on the crease.

With back-to-back wickets, Bumrah helped India reduce Bangladesh to 230/8 in the first innings.

Watch the dismissals below:

Jasprit Bumrah had earlier bagged five wickets, including a four-wicket haul, against Bangladesh in the first Test held in Chennai. The hosts won that game by 280 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

The Gujarat-born pacer is critical to India’s success in the upcoming three-match home Test series against New Zealand and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year. He played a significant role in helping the Men in Blue lift the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he was adjudged Player of the Series.
