[Watch] Jasprit Bumrah dismisses Mehidy Hasan Miraz caught behind again in IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the second time in the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. This time, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant completed the catch instead of Shubman Gill, who took the catch in the first innings.

The dismissal came in the 37th over of Bangladesh’s second innings. Bumrah bowled a full-length ball that angled in and straightened. Miraz was stuck on the crease managing a faint outside edge as Pant completed a regulation catch towards his right side. It was Bumrah’s first wicket of the innings.

Jasprit Bumrah emerged as the pick of India bowlers in the first innings, picking up three wickets. The speedster bagged five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the first Test, which India won by 280 runs. The 30-year-old remains critical to India’s success in the upcoming Test series against New Zealand (home) and Australia (away).

Jasprit Bumrah is keen to deliver in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year. The pacer said that the Bangladesh series will be a good preparation for the upcoming Tests, especially against Australia.

He told Jio Cinema (via SportsTak):

“It’s important to be smart (to stay fit for Australia) because we had a long break after the T20 World Cup. I didn’t play a lot of cricket, I was preparing for the big Test season. It’s good to get some overs under the belt."

“Obviously, here (Kanpur) we missed a few days (of cricket), but it’s important to look forward to building my overs and getting ready for Australia. The number of overs to be bowled will be a lot more in Australia than in India. You keep playing and getting into the groove. By the time you reach Australia, firing on all cylinders," the pacer continued.

“My favorite format is the Tests; I’ve always said that. I wanted to play this format for a long period of time and I am doing it. I’m trying to give my absolute best in this format,” Bumrah added.
