Former England pacer Stuart Broad recently said he was lucky that a no-ball wasn't called on one of his deliveries during Yuvraj Singh's 'Six Sixes' in the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa. In a crucial Super Eight clash between India and England at Durban, Yuvraj took Broad to the cleaners, smashing him for six maximums in his final over, the 19th of the innings.

The brutal display of big-hitting saw Broad finish with woeful figures of 0/60 in four overs.

Reflecting on the 17th anniversary (September 19, 2024) of the moment in the Sky Sports commentary box, Broad revealed he had never watched the video of that over. He also joked about avoiding getting hit for seven sixes in the over.

“I’ve never watched it back. ut, I must admit, I got lucky to get away with a no-ball there as well. It could have been seven (sixes). I’ve never seen that, no. Never watched it. So, thank you for that opportunity 17 years on," Broad said.

Here is the video of Broad's reaction to Yuvraj Singh's 'Six Sixes' 17 years ago:

Broad's over proved costly as India posted a massive 218/4 in their 20 overs, with Yuvraj finishing on 58 from 16 deliveries.

England produced a spirited response but fell short by 18 runs and eventually bowed out of the tournament before the semi-final. Meanwhile, Team India was inspired by the England victory and clinched the title in the inaugural T20 World Cup edition by defeating Pakistan by five runs in the final.
