India A picked up seven wickets in the final session to claim the 2024 Duleep Trophy title

Earlier in the game, India C skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bowl first. Put into bat, Mayank Agarwal's men managed to score 297 runs in their first innings. Southpaw Shashwat Rawat top scored for them, having amassed 124 runs, which included 15 fours.

Despite losing half the side with just 36 runs on the board, Shashwat's century combined with valuable contributions by Avesh Khan, Shams Mulani and Prasidh Krishna towards the latter half of the innings ensured they put up a respectable first-innings total. In reply, India C got bowled out for 234 runs, with Avesh Khan and Aaqib Khan emerging as the highest wicket-takers with three scalps each.

This gave India A a crucial 64-run first-innings lead and a chance to turn the match in their favor. Powered by yet another half-century by Shashwat Rawat and a 101-ball 73-run knock by Riyan Parag, they extended their lead further to 349 runs before declaring their second innings at 286-8.

Chasing 350 runs for the victory, India C fell short of the target having lost all their wickets for 217 runs. Shashwat Rawat was adjudged the Player of the Match for his exploits with the bat in both innings.
