New Zealand's Glenn Phillips was livid after getting run out in an unfortunate manner in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Eliminator between Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons at R Premadasa Stadium on Thursday, July 18. The right-handed batter threw his bat thrice on his way to the pavilion after facing just one ball in the match.

The incident took place in the third over of Colombo’s innings. Angelo Mathews bowled a length ball and Phillips guided it towards the cover fielder, who threw the ball back to the wicketkeeper quickly. The Kiwi batter took off but his partner Rahmanullah Gurbaz stood his ground at the non-striker’s end to avoid the risky single.

Following the dismissal, Phillips threw the bat in the air and then near the dugout before smashing it towards the dressing room.
