Los Angeles Knight Riders' (LAKR) Derone Davis took a stupendous diving catch against Texas Super Kings during the MLC 2024 match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Saturday. It was a one-handed take from the Trinidadian as the Knight Riders struck a vital blow at a crucial juncture of the contest.

The dismissal occurred in the 14th over of the innings sent down by Ali Khan, who fired a wide delivery to Joshua Tromp. The right-handed batter went after it as Davis came running from his left to take it reverse cup and held on to the ball after landing on the turf. Tromp's promising innings finished at 18 off 14 deliveries.

Before Khan dismissed Tromp, the right-arm pacer had also got the better of Devon Conway for 53 and finished the over with the wicket of Milind Kumar.

Derone Davis' sensational fielding and the bowlers' accurate bowling performance capped off the Knight Riders' 12-run victory in Dallas on Saturday. After the Super Kings elected to field first, Unmukt Chand top-scored with 68 for the Knight Riders, while there were handy contributions from the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Nitish Kumar, and Corne Dry.

The Super Kings made a decent start to their run-chase, but losing wickets in clumps meant their run-chase went way off track. Ali Khan finished as the pick of their bowlers with figures of 4-0-33-4. Spencer Johnson also chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine took 1 each.

Conway was the only batter from the Super Kings to pass 50, while Calvin Savage was the 2nd best with 29 runs to his name. The Super Kings will next face the Washington Freedom, while the Knight Riders are scheduled to lock horns with San Francisco Unicorns.
