West Indies opener Brandon King pulled off a massive 101 meter six that traveled out of the stadium in the 2024 T20 World Cup clash against England at St.Lucia on June 19. After being asked to bat first, the West Indies were off to a sedate start at 13/0 in two overs.
However, King finally decided to use his long levers against left-arm pacer Reece Topley. In the third ball of the third over, the right-handed batter nonchalantly flicked a full delivery on leg stump over the deep mid-wicket stands for the first six of the innings.
The ball traveled out of the ground and measured 101 meters, setting the West Indies off to the races.

Following the maximum, King struck Jofra Archer for back-to-back boundaries in the next over. Yet, he was forced to walk off the field and retired hurt in the fifth over of the innings due to a side strain.
Despite a blistering 13-ball 23, King never returned to bat during the remainder of the West Indian innings. The 29-year-old has been in sub-par form through the tournament, scoring 86 runs at an average of 21.50 and a strike rate of 126.47 in five innings.
Brandon King's rapid start propels West Indies to competitive total of 180 against England
West Indies raced to 58/0 at the end of the powerplay, thanks to Brandon King's quick-fire cameo, in their 2024 T20 World Cup Super Eight opener. Skipper Rovman Powell then played a blinder, scoring a 17-ball 36 to take the co-hosts to a dominant 137/2 in 15 overs.
However, the English bowlers recovered to produce a strong finish and contain the West Indies to 180/4 in 20 overs. The spin trio of Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, and Liam Livingstone combined to pick up three of the four wickets.
Despite five of the seven West Indian batters crossing the 20-run mark, their highest score was 36 by Powell and Nicholas Pooran as England kept chipping away at the wickets.
In reply, England were off to a sensational start at 64/0 in seven overs, with Jos Buttler and Phil Salt on fire. However, off-spinner Roston Chase struck at a crucial time to remove Buttler and bring the game back into parity with England 67/1 in the eighth over.
The two teams met a few months back in a five-match T20I series in the West Indies, with the hosts emerging victorious by a slim 3-2 margin.
