Australia captain Alyssa Healy had some fun with her teammate Tahlia McGrath in the dugout during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 clash against Sri Lanka on Saturday (October 5) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. It happened after 11 overs in the second innings of the match when Australia were cruising towards the victory.

Alyssa Healy was sitting comfortably in the dugout and watching the proceedings with her teammates. When Healy noticed the camera, she entertained the viewers with funny antics and also played with Tahlia McGrath's ears, who was sitting in front of her.

You can watch the incident in the video below:

Sri Lanka Women's team captain Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and opted to bat first in the contest. Their batting unit struggled against quality Aussie bowlers and could only reach 93/7 in 20 overs. Megan Schutt (3/12) and Sophie Molineux (2/20) starred for the reigning World Champions in the bowling department.

Australia opener Beth Mooney (43*) then anchored the chase well in the company of other batters to take her side to the target in 14.2 overs. Alyssa Healy reflected on the victory at the post-match presentation and said:

"One off our back, so that's good. Good result. We'll take some confidence. We were decent without being perfect. We adapted to the conditions quickly with the ball. They threw some heat at us early on but we steadied things up."

Healy continued:

"It was hard sitting and waiting for the tournament to start. But it was nice to watch and learn from the outside because we haven't played here before and now nice to get things going in the middle. (One Wareham at three) We might throw in a few more things like that. We are blessed with batting depth and we are happy to switch batting positions."

Australia will next face New Zealand on October 8 at the same venue, while Sri Lanka will lock horns with India on October 9 in Dubai.
