Manchester Originals player Wayne Madsen took a brilliant catch to get rid of Oval Invincibles opener Will Jacks in the 18th match of The Men’s Hundred Competition on Tuesday, August 6. The match is being played at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

The dismissal came on the 38th ball of the Oval Invincibles innings. Sikandar Raza bowled a quick delivery on length, which Will Jacks hit hard but was caught at cover. Wayne Madsen flew to his left and plucked a blinder to dismiss Jacks, who was looking in great touch.

Here’s the video of the catch:

Before departing, the Oval Invincibles opener scored 41 off 20 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes. Jacks’ wicket left his side at 57/2 after 38 balls.

Sam Curran powered Oval Invincibles to a decent total

After being asked to bat first, Oval Invincibles opener Will Jacks came out all gun-blazing. The right-handed batter scored 41 off 20 balls. His partner David Malan didn’t have a good outing as he was dismissed for seven by Usama Mir.

Captain Sam Billings played a decent cameo of 24 off 12 balls. It was the star of the last game Sam Curran who continued his great form. The left-handed batter scored 68 off 38 balls, smashing two fours and six maximums. The Oval Invincibles finished at 164/8 in 100 balls.

Scott Currie, Usama Mir, and Sikandar Raza took two wickets each for the Manchester Originals.

At the time of writing, the Manchester Originals were 15/0 after 10 balls. They need 150 runs to win from 90 balls, with openers Philip Salt and Matthew Hurst at the crease.

This is a must-win game for Manchester Originals, as they are at the bottom of the table, having lost all four matches. On the other hand, Oval Invincibles are second on the points table, with three wins in four games.
