The 81st match of the T20 Blast 2024 between Middlesex and Hampshire was abandoned due to rain. In the 82nd match, Derbyshire elected to bowl after winning the toss against Leicestershire.

Leicestershire lost their first five wickets for just 78 runs. Ben Cox’s 61-run knock off 30 deliveries down the order helped them post 184 runs for the loss of six wickets. For Derbyshire, Zak Chappell took three wickets for 42 runs, while Samit Patel picked up two wickets for 27 runs.

In reply, Derbyshire lost their first three wickets for 52 runs. Wayne Madsen and Samit then added 80 runs for the fourth wicket. Samit remained unbeaten on 67 runs off 44 deliveries and helped the team reach the target in 19.2 overs with four wickets in hand.
