Lancashire emerged victorious in a closely contested affair against Worcestershire in the 86th game of the league. Glamorgan beat Essex by 26 runs in the 87th match of the tournament, while Northamptonshire won a low-scoring thriller against Durham in the 88th match.

The 89th league stage match between Surrey and Kent was reduced to a 10-over-a-side game, with Surrey bagging a win by five runs.

Warwickshire have dominated proceedings in the 2024 Vitality Blast, with eight victories in 10 matches played so far. Warwickshire is atop the points table and has accumulated 16 points so far with a net run rate of +1.542.

Closely trailing Warwickshire is Lancashire in the second spot on the points table with 13 points and a net run rate of +1.110.In the ten games Lancashire have played so far, they have managed to win six, lose three, and one game was declared a no-result.

Northamptonshire occupy the third spot on the 2024 Vitality blast points table with five victories in ten matches and a tally of 12 points, while Durham, with 11 points in ten games, are in the fourth position.

Tied on points, Derbyshire and Leicestershire see themselves in the fifth and sixth positions, respectively, with ten points each. Derbyshire has a slightly better net run rate of +0.345 compared to Leicestershire’s +0.248.

Vitality T20 Blast: Gloucestershire win a thriller over Somerset; Nottinghamshire get blown away by Warwickshire

Somerset put up a score of 194/6 in 20 overs in their vital T20 blast fixture against Gloucestershire. Tom Banton (77 off 46) and Ben Green (47 off 25) top-scored for Somerset, while Marchant de Lange took two for Gloucestershire.

In reply, Gloucestershire successfully chased down the total with a ball and five wickets to spare. Gloucestershire’s batting effort oozed teamwork, as contributions from Miles Hammond (42 off 32), James Bracey (31 off 17), Beau Webster (39 off 25), Jack Taylor (27 off 19), and Ben Charlesworth helped them achieve this target and, most importantly, ensure two points on the table.

The game between Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire was a complete contrast to the previous game, as Nottinghamshire were decimated for a meager 57 in 17.2 overs. George Garton, Jacob Lintott, and Moeen Ali took two each for Warwickshire.

In reply, Warwickshire cruised past the target in just 5.2 overs, winning the game by nine wickets and a healthy margin of 14.4 overs.
