The 105th game of the 2024 Vitality Blast saw Northamptonshire defeat Durham by six wickets on Sunday, July 14. Leicestershire defeated Nottinghamshire by five wickets in the 106th match of the tournament.

Yorkshire chased down a target of 206 runs set by Worcestershire in the 107th game of the season. Dawid Malan (93* off 50) top-scored for Yorkshire, while Jordan Thompson (40* off 14) provided Malan with able support.

Warwickshire bowled out Derbyshire for 154 runs in 19.2 overs to beat them by 44 runs in the 108th encounter of the league. Meanwhile, Gloucestershire won emphatically against Glamorgan in the 109th fixture. It came courtesy of heroics from Jack Taylor (80* off 35) in the batting department and David Payne (3/7) and Tom Smith (3/33) in the bowling department.

Somerset and Surrey defeated Hampshire and Essex, respectively, in the 110th and 111th games of the season.

Warwickshire top the North Group with 18 points in 12 matches. They have won nine matches so far this season. Lancashire are second with 15 points in 12 matches and a net run rate of +1.110. Meanwhile, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire are third and fourth on the points table, respectively, having scored 14 points each.

Yorkshire and Durham have accumulated 13 points each so far and are fifth and sixth in the North Group standings, respectively. Derbyshire, Worcestershire, and Nottingham occupy the seventh, eighth, and ninth positions on the standings with 11, eight, and six points, respectively.

Surrey leads the proceedings in the South group of the 2024 Vitality Blast with 18 points in 12 matches at a net run rate of +1.424. Sussex have played 12 games so far this season, winning eight of those with 16 points and a net run rate of +0.660. Somerset and Essex have accumulated 15 points each this season, occupying the third and fourth spots in the South Group standings, respectively. With 13 points in 13 matches, Gloucestershire are in fifth place.

Northamptonshire beat Durham by six wickets in an eight-over-a-side game

The game between Northamptonshire and Durham was a rain-afflicted affair. The match was reduced to an eight-over side game with Durham batting first and scoring 90/5 in eight overs. Ashton Turner and Colin Ackermann top-scored for Durham with 36 and 25 runs, respectively.

Matthew Breetzke (20 off 11), Ashton Agar (31 off 14), Saif Zaib (15 off 10), and Lewis McManus (12 off 2) put in good knocks. They ensured that Northamptonshire won this game by six wickets and five balls to spare.

Surrey took on Essex at the County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford in the 11th game of the tournament. Essex won the toss and elected to bowl first. Will Jacks (86 off 46) top-scored for Surrey, while Essex skipper Simon Harmer took three for his side.

In response, Adam Rossington (78 off 49), Michael Pepper (27 off 18), and Luc Benkenstein (27 off 16) got Essex close to their required target. However, they fell just short of 13 runs, with Surrey winning the game. Skipper Chris Jordan took 3/34 in four overs for his side.
