A total of eight matches were played in the T20 Blast 2024 on Friday, July 5. Four out of these eight games were abandoned. Kent won their match against Gloucestershire by eight runs by the DLS method.

Durham defeated Worcestershire by 22 runs after posting a total of 190 runs on the board. The match between Northamptonshire and Lancashire was abandoned. In the 75th match, Nottinghamshire scored 175 runs for the loss of five wickets before the match ended in a no result.

The 78th match between Surrey and Middlesex was abandoned as well due to rain. Durham defeated Yorkshire by four runs after posting a total of 214 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

The match between Essex and Somerset was abandoned as well. Glamorgan scored 235 runs for the loss of six wickets against Sussex. In response, Sussex scored 190 runs for the loss of eight wickets and lost the match by 24 runs by the DLS method.

Birmingham Bears are still in first place and have won seven out of nine games. Lancashire retained their second position and have recorded five wins in nine matches. Durham have jumped to third place from fifth and have won five out of nine games.

Leicestershire have slipped to fourth position from third and have won four out of nine games. Northamptonshire have moved to fifth place from fourth and have four wins to their name in nine outings.

Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Worcestershire are still in the last four places. Yorkshire have won four matches, while Derbyshire have won three games. Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire have won two matches each.

Surrey, Sussex, Somerset, Essex, and Gloucestershire are still in the first five places in the points table. Both Surrey and Sussex have won six matches each. Somerset and Essex have won five matches each. Gloucestershire have won four games.

Glamorgan have moved to sixth place from seventh and Kent have jumped to seventh position from eighth. They have won three matches each.

Hampshire have slipped to eighth place from sixth and have recorded two wins in eight matches. Middlesex are still in ninth position and have won just a single game in nine matches.


Multiple matches were abandoned amidst heavy rain in the T20 Blast

In the 73rd match, Gloucestershire faced Kent and chose to bowl after winning the toss. Daniel Bell-Drummond scored 76 runs off 52 deliveries, helping Kent post a total of 150 runs. Gloucestershire made 29 runs for the loss of two wickets before rain interrupted the match. Kent won by eight runs via the DLS method.

The 74th match between Northamptonshire and Lancashire was abandoned. In the 75th match, Leicestershire won the toss and elected to field against Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire scored 175 runs for the loss of five wickets before rain interrupted, resulting in a no result.

Durham took on Worcestershire in the 76th match and chose to bat after winning the toss. Ollie Robinson scored 41 runs off 30 deliveries, helping Durham post a total of 190 runs for the loss of five wickets. Worcestershire were bowled out for 168 runs, losing the match by 22 runs.

In the 77th match, Warwickshire elected to bat against Yorkshire. They scored 214 runs for the loss of seven wickets, with Sam Hain remaining unbeaten on 98 runs off 48 deliveries. Yorkshire scored 210 runs for the loss of five wickets, losing the match by four runs.

The 78th match between Surrey and Middlesex was abandoned due to rain. In the 79th game, Sussex elected to bowl after winning the toss against Glamorgan. Glamorgan made 235 runs for the loss of six wickets. Rain interrupted the match, and Sussex was given a target of 215 runs in 18 overs. They scored 190 runs for the loss of eight wickets, losing the match by 24 runs. The 80th match between Essex and Somerset was also abandoned due to rain.
