Five Vitality T20 Blast 2024 matches were played on Thursday, July 11, with three in the North Group and two in the South.

Warwickshire are still at the top of the North Group points table, winning eight out of their 10 matches. Second-placed Lancashire’s previous game against Derbyshire was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain interruption.

Northamptonshire and Derbyshire are placed in the next two spots with five wins each. However, while the former have bagged 12 points, Derbyshire have 11.

Durham and Leicestershire occupy the following two positions with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Durham lost their previous game against Yorkshire by seven wickets and slipped from fourth to fifth while Leicester lost to Worcestershire and dropped to the sixth spot.

Yorkshire remained seventh despite a victory over Durham. Meanwhile, Worcestershire moved one spot up to eighth following their 16-run win over Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire dropped to the bottom with just two wins in 10 games.

Surrey and Sussex retained their top two positions in the South Group.

Essex jumped from fifth to third after registering their 22-run victory over Kent. Meanwhile, Somerset and Gloucestershire dropped one position each. Both teams have 11 points in their account.

Glamorgan retained their sixth spot with four wins and five losses while Middlesex climbed from the bottom of the table to the seventh spot after defeating Gloucestershire by 29 runs.

Hampshire and Kent hold the bottom two spots with two and three wins in 10 and 11 games, respectively.


Worcestershire and Yorkshire win North Group matches while Middlesex and Essex emerged victorious in South

Middlesex secured a commanding victory over Gloucestershire by 29 runs in the first game. Middlesex posted 181/8, driven by impressive performances from Jack Davies(53) and Martin Andersson (52). In response, Gloucestershire could only manage 152, with J Taylor tops-scoring 45 and Luke Hollman (3/37) being the standout bowler for Middlesex.

Worcestershire achieved a 16-run victory over Leicestershire. Adam Hose's 63 and Kashif Ali's 41 guided Worcestershire to 184/8. In reply, despite Jordan Cox's 55 and Louis Kimber's 53, Leicestershire were bowled out for 168. Matthew Waite's remarkable 5-21 spell proved decisive in Worcestershire's win.

Yorkshire secured a comfortable victory over Durham by seven wickets. Durham, batting first, were bowled out for a mere 107 runs, with Jafer Chohan taking five wickets for Yorkshire. In response, Yorkshire chased down the target with ease, reaching 108 for the loss of three wickets.

Essex triumphed over Kent by 22 runs in a well-fought match. Essex posted a solid total of 187/3, with Paul Walter contributing an unbeaten 46. While chasing, Kent's Tawanda Muyeye scored 73, but his efforts weren't enough as they managed only 165/5.

The match between Derbyshire and Lancashire was abandoned without a bowl being bowled due to bad weather.
