On September 5, Kashi Rudras met Kanpur Superstars in the 22nd game of UP T20 League 2024 while the Lucknow Falcons and Gorakhpur Lions locked horns in the following game. Both matches took place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

With six wins from seven matches, Meerut Mavericks are having a fantastic campaign. They are ranked first with 12 points and an impressive net run rate of +2.183.

Lucknow Falcons, ranked second, suffered their fourth loss against Gorakhpur Lions, placed third, by six wickets. Both teams have won four games and lost as many in the tournament so far.

Kashi Rudras hold the fourth spot with four wins and four losses and an NRR of -0.851. Kanpur Superstars retained the fifth position with three wins and five losses.

Noida Super Kings are placed at the bottom of the points table with two wins and five losses.

In the first game, Kanpur Superstars got off to a fine start with Inzaman Hussain (23) and Adarsh Singh (85 off 55), despite the early departure of opener Ankur Malik (3). Later, Osho Mohan (21) and Shaurya Singh (13) contributed as the team posted 161 on the board. Shiva Singh bagged three wickets for the Rudras, while Shivam Mavi and Yashovardhan Singh took two each.

In response, Shivam Bansal (34) and Prince Yadav (13*) were the key run-scorers. The Rudras were struggling at 64/4 in the 13th over when rain interrupted proceedings, handing the Superstars a 31-run win (DLS method).

In the second game, the Lucknow Falcons recovered from a bad start to post 115/9 in 18 overs in a rain-curtailed affair. Priyam Garg (32) and Abhay Chahan (22) were the key contributors with the bat. Abdul Rehman was the pick of the bowlers for the Lions with three scalps.

During the run chase, the Lions were at 40/4 after nine overs, but skipper Akshdeep Nath (52*) and Hardeep Singh (33*) displayed nerves of steel to win the game for the side in 16.2 overs. Vipraj Nigam was the most successful bowler for the Falcons with two wickets.
