On Friday, August 30, the Lucknow Falcons faced the Kashi Rudras in the 10th UP T20 League 2024 match. In the 11th match, the Kanpur Superstars locked horns against the Noida Super Kings.
The Kashi Rudras win a thriller of a contest against the Lucknow Falcons in the first game of the doubleheader Friday. In the second game, the Kanpur Superstars defeated the Noida Super Kings comprehensively.
The Meerut Mavericks continue to top the table with six points and a net run rate of +2.270 under their belt. The Kashi Rudras retained their second spot after grabbing their third win. They also have six points to their name and sit below the Mavericks with a net run rate of -0.352.
The Kanpur Superstars have taken their points tally to four after their win on Friday. They have jumped to the third spot from the fifth. The Gorakhpur Lions have slipped to the fourth spot. They have two points in three games and have a net run rate of +0.710.
The Lucknow Falcons suffered their third loss of the UP T20 League 2024 and failed to add to their points tally of two. They are placed below the Lions with a net run rate of +0.239. The Noida Super Kings are sitting at the bottom of the points table with only two points under their belt in four games. They have a net run rate of -1.926.
Shivam Mavi’s all-around heroics helps Kashi Rudras grab their third win of the UP T20 League 2024
The Lucknow Falcons were asked to bat first in the 10th match of the UP T20 League 2024. Their batters faltered as only two of them got to double digits. Skipper Priyam Garg (60) and Sameer Choudhary (39) contributed as they finished their innings on 143/9.
Sunil Kumar picked up three wickets for Kashi Rudras. Shivam Mavi and Karan Chaudhary grabbed two scalps each as they completed a beautiful performance with the ball.
In reply, the Rudras were reeling at 55/6 before Yashovardhan Singh along with Shivam Mavi started resurrecting the innings. Singh fell after scoring 41 off 25 balls. The game went down the wire and Mavi played a match-winning knock for the Rudras.
Mavi hit two boundaries and five maximums to remain unbeaten on 46 off just 20 balls to take his side across the line with three balls to spare. The Falcons picked up seven wickets in total, with Vipraj Nigam claiming three but they failed to hold their nerves and defend the total.
In the 11th match, the Noida Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batters struggled as none of them got going. Mohammad Sharim played a decent cameo of 20-ball 37 lower down the order to take them to 121/8. Each of the six Kanpur Superstars’ bowlers picked up at least a wicket. Mohsin Khan and Mukesh Kumar picked up two scalps each.
Shoaib Siddiqui led the charge in the chase at the top of the order. He scored 51* and received good support from Adarsh Singh (25) and skipper Sameer Rizvi (33) as the Kanpur Superstars chased down the total in 15.2 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Ajay Kumar, Kartikeya Yadav, and Naman Tiwari grabbed a scalp apiece for the Noida Super Kings but it wasn’t enough as they were unsuccessful in defending the total. It was a comfortable victory for the Superstars in the UP T20 League 2024.
