It is worth mentioning that Shikhar Dhawan seems to have fallen down the pecking order across formats, with the selectors preferring young openers like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal over him. The southpaw last donned the national jersey in December 2022, scoring three runs off eight balls in an ODI against Bangladesh.
