The Top End T20 Series 2024 continued on Monday, August 12, with three more matches played across two different venues in Darwin.

In the opening match of the triple-header, Tasmania overhauled Northern Territory’s total of 108 with six wickets and 19 balls to spare. Nicholas Davis top-scored with 44* in the run-chase after Tasmanian bowlers Lachlan Clark (3/17) and Raf MacMillan (2/15) hogged the limelight in the first half of the game.

At the Marrara Oval in Darwin, Australian Capital Territory scored 152/6 from 20 overs upfront, largely owing to a cautious 47 from opener Esam Rahman. Captain Scott Murn provided the death-overs fury by smacking 26* from just 16 balls with one four and two sixes.

Later, Esam Rahman backed his batting recital with a match-winning three-wicket display. Tyler Hays, Kai Brunker and Jake Smith also claimed two Perth Scorchers wickets each as Australian Capital Territory registered a huge 33-run win.

In the final match of the day and the 10th of the competition, Bangladesh A top-order batters Jishan Alam (38 off 23 balls) and Parvez Hossain Emon (39 off 29 balls) fuelled their team to a competitive 166/5 from 20 overs.

In response, unbeaten Jake Doran bashed 71 from 37 balls after Tasmania slipped to 51/3 in a chase of 167. Doran’s blistering knock against Rakibul Hasan (2/25) and others helped Tasmania secure a five-wicket win in the final over of the match.
