The Top End T20 Series 2024 continued on Wednesday, August 14, with four matches across Cazalys Arena Palmerston and Darwin’s Marrara Oval.

In the first match of the day, Perth Scorchers scored 167/6 from 20 overs, courtesy of a 67-run knock from unbeaten Teague Wyllie. Later, fast bowler Matthew Kelly claimed four wickets to restrict Melbourne Renegades to 153/8 as the Scorchers secured a 14-run win for themselves.

Next up, Adelaide Strikers chased down Bangladesh A’s 147/8 in just 17.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. Opener Jake Winter clubbed an unbeaten 82 after Tim Oakley (3/31) and Harry Manenti (3/31) hogged the limelight with the ball.

Between Tasmania and Melbourne Renegades, the latter prevailed by a four-wicket margin in 16.2 overs by chasing down their 140-run target. Matt Hennig collected three wickets for the Renegades before opening batter Blake Macdonald led the run-chase with a 54-run knock.

In the fourth and final match of the day and the 18th of the competition, Connor Carroll smacked a 32-ball 59* to elevate Northern Territory to 162/4 from 20 overs. Later in the game, Territory bowlers collectively complemented Carroll’s efforts by restricting the Melbourne Stars to just 144/8 for an 18-run win.

Northern Territory batter D’Arcy Short continues to top the run-scoring charts of the Top End T20 Series 2024 with 201 runs. He is followed by Melbourne Stars’ Liam Blackford (186 runs) and Tasmania players Jake Doran (151 runs) and Nicholas David (143 runs). Short’s Territory teammate J Dickman is ranked fifth on the list for minting 136 runs at an average of 45.33.

Marcus Harris (119 runs), Teague Wyllie (117 runs), Parvez Hossain Emon (116 runs), Sam Fanning (114 runs), and Liam Scott (108 runs) occupy the bottom half of the top 10 leading run-scorers of the season in that order.

Esam Rahman, Reiley Mark and Matt Hennig have all claimed eight wickets each in the ongoing Top End T20 2024 to emerge as the leading wicket-takers of the season as of August 14. Similarly, bowlers Austin Anlezark, Tim Oakley and Xavier A Crone take the subsequent three slots on the top 10 table for picking up seven wickets each so far in the tournament.

Matthew Kelly, Jahandad Khan, Lloyd Pope, and Matthew Spoors round up the bowling charts for accounting six wickets each from their ends.
