TNPL 2024: Top run-getters and wicket-takers after Dindigul Dragons vs Salem Spartans (Updated) ft. Baba Indrajith & R Kavin

On Monday, July 8, 2024, Dindigul Dragons and Salem Spartans locked horns in the sixth Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 match.

Dindigul Dragons won the toss and opted to bat first, setting a modest total of 149/9. They lost their openers Shivam Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin inside the powerplay. However, Vimal Khumar (47) and Baba Indrajith (51) stitched a 64-run partnership in the middle to bring the side into a commanding position.

Sunny Sandhu and Harish Kumar picked up two wickets for Salem Spartans while M Poiyamozhi and R Aushik claimed a wicket each.

In reply, S Abishiek (28) and R Kavin stitched a 59-run opening partnership for the Spartans. Kavin’s 34-ball 46 and Rajendran Vivek’s unbeaten 51* off 28 helped their side to achieve the target with 1.5 overs to spare. Sandeep Warrier, P Vignesh, and Varun Chakravarthy picked up a wicket each.

R Kavin of Salem Spartans jumped from fifth to first position in the table, after scoring a 46-run knock in the previous game against Dindigul Dragons.

Lyca Kovai Kings’ Balasubramaniyan Sachin is second on the most runs leaderboard. He has scored 93 in two matches, including a 63-run knock.

Baba Indrajith has scored 84 runs in two games and is currently ranked third. Tushar Raheja of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Narayan Jagadeesan of Chepauk Super Gillies follow him closely with 81 runs each.

Shivam Singh of Dindigul Dragons dropped from fourth to sixth position, scoring 80 runs in two games, including a 78-run knock.

The next seven players, including IPL stars like Murugan Ashwin, M Shahrukh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Sandeep Warrior in the following positions have taken three wickets each.
