After winning the toss and opting to field first, Lyca Kovai Kings captain M Shahrukh Khan (3/13) struck early for his team with a three-wicket burst as Trichy Grand Cholas crumbled at 32/4 in the first seven overs. Khan’s teammate Mohammed Mohammed dismissed S Shyam Sundar before mopping up the Trichy tail to claim figures of 3/23 from his four overs.

Chasing 125, Lyca Kovai Kings lost two wickets in the opening over to Athisayaraj Davidson (2/19). However, opener S Sujay overcame his team’s early setback with a counterattacking 48* and stroked a match-winning 118-run partnership for the third wicket with half-centurion U Mukilesh (63*). Their unbroken stand helped Lyca Kovai Kings mow down their 125-run target with eight wickets and nearly four overs to spare.
