On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) locked horns in the eighth match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem.

Lyca Kovai Kings are still at the top of the TNPL 2024 points, having won two out of two games.

Trichy Grand Cholas and SKM Salem Spartans occupy the next two spots, respectively, with a net run rate of 1.275 and 0.191. They have one win in two games.

Nellai Royal Kings had claimed their first victory against CSG and grabbed the fourth spot with an NRR of +0.171.

Dindigul Dragons are ranked fifth after a seven-wicket victory over the Spartans. Meanwhile, the Super Gillies jumped from the bottom of the table to sixth position with a negative NRR of -0.021. They defeated the Tamizhans by 15 runs.

Siechem Madurai Panthers dropped to seventh with one win and one loss while the Tamizhans are languishing at the foot of the table, eyeing their first win in the next game.

Pradosh Paul’s unbeaten fifty and a complete bowling effort guided Gillies to maiden victory

Chepauk Super Gillies’ Narayan Jagadeesan’s 36 off 26 balls, Pradosh Paul’s unbeaten 46-ball 67-run knock, and Andre Siddarth C’s 23 off 19 deliveries helped them set a modest target of 157 runs for six wickets.

Mohamed Ali of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans was the wrecker-in-chief with a three-wicket haul while P Bhuvaneswaran, T Natarajan, and M Mathivannan picked up one wicket apiece.

In reply, S Radhakrishnan (15) and Tushar Raheja (20) scored 23 runs for the first wicket. After Radhakrishnan’s dismissal, Amit Sathvik (14) was dismissed in the ninth over. However, S Ganesh smashed a 35-ball 61-run knock to bring his side into a commanding position.

As the game progressed, Tamizhans lost wickets at regular intervals, resulting in a 15-run loss. Ganeshan Periyaswamy was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets while the rest of the attack took one wicket each.
