On Tuesday, July 23, Siechem Madurai Panthers and Lyca Kovai Kings met in the 22nd match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli.

Siechem Madurai Panthers won the toss and elected to field first against Lyca Kovai Kings. Lyca’s openers Sujay (15) and Suresh Kumar (16) were dismissed inside the powerplay. However, Sai Sudharsan’s 34 and M Shahrukh Khan’s 51-run knock from 26 balls helped them reach 163/9 in 20 overs.

Ajay Krishna led the Panthers bowling unit with a four-wicket haul, while R Mithun took two wickets and Gurjapneet Singh, Murugan Ashwin, and Karthick Manikandan took one wicket each.

The Panthers lost four wickets inside five overs. Karthick Manikandan (33) was the top scorer, followed by Jagatheesan Kousik (27) and Mithun (26). Gowtham Thamarai Kannan picked up four wickets for Kings, while Manimaran Siddharth took two. Shahrukh, Mohammed Mohammed, and Valliappan Yudheeswaran claimed one wicket apiece.

Sai Sudharsan (Lyca Kovai Kings)

Sai Sudharsan, who represents Gujarat Titans in the IPL, plays for Lyca Kovai Kings in the TNPL 2024. He scored a 34-run knock at a decent strike rate of 130.76, featuring three fours.


M Shahrukh Khan (Lyca Kovai Kings)

M Shahrukh Khan, another Gujarat Titans all-rounder, scored a half-century off 26 balls. His knock included two fours and five sixes. He also bowled an economical spell and took a wicket.


Manimaran Siddharth (Lyca Kovai Kings)

Manimaran Siddharth, who represents Lucknow Super Giants in IPL, bowled an economical spell. He conceded 20 runs in three overs, taking two wickets.


Murugan Ashwin (Siechem Madurai Panthers)

Murugan Ashwin of Siechem Madurai Panthers picked up a wicket and conceded 28 runs at an economy of 7.00.


Hari Nishaanth (Siechem Madurai Panthers)

Hari Nishaanth, who has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad, had a disappointing game. He was dismissed for a duck in three balls.
