Lyca Kovai Kings and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans met in the Qualifier 1 match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 on Tuesday, July 30. NPR College Ground in Dindigul hosted the clash.

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans opted to bat first and posted a 201-run target for three wickets. Openers Amit Sathvik and Tushar Raheja stitched a 105-run partnership while Mohammed Ali added 45 runs off 23 and Balchander Anirudh scored 21 off 29.

Lyca Kovai Kings chased down the target in 18.5 overs thanks to Sai Sudharsan’s match-wining 123-run unbeaten knock, featuring 18 boundaries. He was well backed by U Mukilesh’s 48 of 31. P Bhuvaneswaran, Sai Kishore, and Ajith Ram took a wicket each for the Tamizhans.

Sai Sudharsan (Lyca Kovai Kings)

Sai Sudharsan, the Gujarat Titans opener, delivered a match-winning knock against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. He smashed 123 not out of just 56, including nine fours and as many sixes.


M Shahrukh Khan (Lyca Kovai Kings)

M Shahrukh Khan, another Gujarat Titans all-rounder, didn’t get a chance to bat. He bowled four overs and was the second-most expensive among the Lyca Kovai Kings bowlers. However, he picked up the solitary wicket of Tamizhans’ Amit Sathvik.


Manimaran Siddharth (Lyca Kovai Kings)

Manimaran Siddharth, the Lucknow Super Giants spinner, bowled an economical over on Tuesday. He conceded 28 runs from four overs but failed to pick up a wicket for the Lyca Kovai Kings.


Jhathavedh Subramanyan (Lyca Kovai Kings)

Jhathavedh Subramanyan was a part of the Mumbai Indian squad in the past. He picked up a wicket for Lyca and conceded 38 runs at an economy of 9.50.


T Natarajan (IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans)

T Natarajan, who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, had a rough day with the ball. He went wicketless for 36 runs in his four-over spell.


R Sai Kishore (IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans)

R Sai Kishore, another GT bowling all-rounder, performed decently in the previous game. He took a wicket in three overs and also scored eight runs off five balls with one four.
