The 24th match of the Women’s Hundred 2024 saw the Southern Brave Women lock horns against the Trent Rockets Women on August 10. In the 25th match, the Welsh Fire Women faced the Birmingham Phoenix Women.

The Rockets Women defeated the Brave Women convincingly at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. At Sophia Gardens, the Birmingham Phoenix Women beat the Welsh Fire Women in a close-fought contest.

The Welsh Fire Women, despite losing on Saturday, are sitting at the top of the points table. They have nine points under their belt in seven games. Below them sit the Northern Superchargers Women who have eight points in six matches.

The London Spirit Women have seven points in six games and sit third with a net run rate of +0.010. The Oval Invincibles Women also have seven points and follow the Spirit Women after having a net run rate of -0.128.

The Trent Rockets Women grabbed their third win on Saturday and have retained their fifth position in the points table. They have six points in as many games and have a net run rate of +0.562. The Birmingham Phoenix also have six points and are placed seventh with a net run rate of -0.817.

The Manchester Originals Women are sitting in the seventh position with four points to their name in six games. The Southern Brave Women suffered their fifth loss in the Women’s Hundred 2024 and continue to sit at the bottom of the points table with three points.

Defending champions Southern Brave get knocked out of the Women’s Hundred 2024

In the 24th match of the Women’s Hundred 2024, the Southern Brave Women faced the Trent Rockets Women at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. The Rockets Women were asked to bat first and their skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt led from the front.

Nat scored a brilliant 37-ball 60* as it powered the Rockets Women to 155/7. Lauren Bell starred with the ball for the Brave Women. She picked up three wickets, conceding 36 runs in her four sets.

In reply, Smriti Mandhana (42), skipper Georgia Adams (27), and Chloe Tryon (47*) tried hard but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. As a result, they fell short by 24 runs after finishing their innings on 131/6. Alexa Stonehouse grabbed two scalps for the Rockets Women.

With this 24-run loss, the defending champions Southern Brave Women got knocked out of the Women’s Hundred 2024. It was a must-win clash and the Brave Women faltered as they were eliminated from the competition.

The 25th match was a close-fought one. After being inserted to bat, the Birmingham Phoenix Women posted 121 for the loss of seven wickets. It came on the back of a well-composed fifty from Sterre Kalis (55) at the top of the order.

Hayley Matthews bowled beautifully for the Fire Women. She grabbed three scalps and gave away 32 runs in her 20 balls. Freya Davies also chipped in with a couple of wickets.

Chasing 122, the Welsh Fire Women got starts with the bat but failed to convert them into big scores. Hayley Matthews was the top-scored with 35 as the Fire Women were restricted to 112/8 as they lost the game by nine runs.

It was a collective effort from the Phoenix Women with the ball in hand. Skipper Ellyse Perry, Emily Arlott, and Katie Levick picked up two wickets apiece. They defended the total successfully to get back to winning ways in the Women’s Hundred 2024.
