The Northern Superchargers Women squared off against the London Spirit Women in the 29th match of the Women’s Hundred 2024 on Tuesday, August 13, at Headingley, Leeds. The Spirit Women emerged victorious by seven wickets.

With this win, the London Spirit Women have moved to the second spot. They have taken their points tally to nine and have a net run rate of +0.080. The Welsh Fire Women pip the Spirit Women at the top of the table with nine points and a net run rate of +0.086.

The Oval Invincibles Women are placed third in the points table. They have nine points to their name in seven fixtures and have a net run rate of -0.016. The Northern Superchargers Women got knocked out of the Women’s Hundred 2024 after suffering a loss on Tuesday. They have eight points in as many games and sit fourth with a net run rate of +0.942.

The Trent Rockets Women also have eight points under their belt and follow the Superchargers Women with a net run rate of +0.526. The Manchester Originals Women have six points and are placed sixth with a net run rate of -0.398.

The Birmingham Phoenix Women sit seventh in the points table with a net run rate of -0.742 after grabbing six points in seven fixtures. They are followed by the Southern Brave Women who are placed at the bottom of the points table with three points.

Northern Superchargers’ campaign in the Women’s Hundred 2024 comes to an end

The Northern Superchargers Women opted to bat first against the London Spirit Women in the 29th match of the Women’s Hundred 2024. They had a horrible start as they lost their top three batters cheaply inside the powerplay.

The pair of Annabel Sutherland (24) and Alice Davidson Richards (33) tried to resurrect the innings but the London Spirit Women bowled beautifully. As a result, the Superchargers Women were restricted to 99/7. Eva Gray starred with the ball for the Spirit Women and registered figures of 3/17 in her 20 balls. Danielle Gibson also grabbed a couple of scalps.

Chasing a modest total of 100, the London Spirit Women also lost three wickets inside the powerplay but skipper Heather Knight and Deepti Sharma used all their experience and took them out of the hole. Knight and Deepti remained unbeaten on 43 and 37 respectively as they took their side across the line with 14 balls to spare.

It was a comprehensive victory for the London Spirit Women which meant that the Northern Superchargers Women’s journey came to an end.

Linsey Smith of the Superchargers picked up three wickets but the others failed to enter the wickets column. There weren’t enough runs on the board to defend for the Superchargers Women and as a result, they got knocked out of the Women’s Hundred 2024.
