On Sunday, July 28, 2024, the Welsh Fire Women and Oval Invincibles Women locked horns in the sixth match of The Hundred Women's 2024 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Oval Invincibles defeated Welsh Fire while chasing 117 runs target. Batting first, Sophia Dunkley’s 35 off 26, Jess Jonassen’s unbeaten 33 off 23, and Sarah Bryce’s 20 from 18 were the major contributions while the rest were dismissed in single digits. Ryana Macdonald Gay and Amanda-Jade Wellington secured two wickets each while Marizanne Kapp took one.

In reply, Alice Capsey (59) and Marizanne Kapp (29*) made important contributions in the top order while Paige Scholfield and Mady Villiers added 11 runs each to achieve the target in 88 balls. Georgia Davis picked up a three-wicket haul for Welsh Fire while Shabnim Ismail took one.

Oval Invincibles’ Alice Capsey jumped from eighth position to the top after scoring 59 runs off 48 balls in the previous game. She has scored 111 runs in two games at an impressive average of 55 and a strike rate of 126.13.

Following closely, Sophia Dunkley of Welsh Fire climbed from rank third to second in the most runs leaderboard with 104 runs in two games. Heather Knight of London Spirit dropped from first to third position, having scored 91 runs in two games, including an unbeaten 65-run knock.
