The Hundred Women's 2024 Most Runs

The Hundred Women’s 2024 season came to a conclusion on Sunday, August 18 with a high-octane final between Welsh Fire and London Spirit.

Hosted by the iconic Lord’s stadium in London, Welsh Fire batted first and managed to produce just 115/8 from their share of 100 balls. Captain Tammy Beaumont and in-form all-rounder Hayley Matthews belted valiant 20s at the top of the order before Jess Jonassen fueled her team’s innings with a confident half-century.

Looking well settled to post up a competitive total, Welsh Fire eventually lost track at the death owing to some collective brilliance from Eva Gray (2/26) and Deepti Sharma (1/23). Earlier in the match, Spirit spinner Sarah Glenn (2/17) struck twice in succession to seize early advantage for her team.

In response, Spirit fumbled early in their run-chase by losing Meg Lanning and Cordelia Griffith to Shabnim Ismail and Georgia Davis respectively. However, Georgia Redmayne steadied her team’s faltering start by carving out 34 runs from 32 balls and formed handy partnerships with captain Heather Knight (24 off 18) and Danielle Gibson. Gibson herself smacked 22 from nine balls before she and captain Knight were cleaned up by Ismail (3/24) in quick succession.

At 112/6 in 97 balls, Deepti Sharma (16*) launched the winning hit as the Spirit claimed the Women’s Hundred 2024 title at Lord’s.
