The first match of the day in the Hundred Women 2024 took place between Welsh Fire and Northern Superchargers at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. It was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Thursday, August 8. In the second game, Southern Brave beat the Oval Invincibles by seven wickets in a rain-affected match at the Kennington Oval in London.

After being asked to bat first, the Invincibles scored 79 for the loss of four wickets in 65 balls. Marizanne Kapp scored 26 off 17 balls. Lauren Cheatle and Tilly Corteen-Coleman accounted for two scalps apiece. After being set a revised target of 83, the Brave got home in 64 balls. Danni Wyatt’s unbeaten 46 took them home.

Danni Wyatt of the Brave is the leading run-scorer, having racked up 225 runs from six games at an average of 45 and a strike rate of 133.13. She has recorded two half-centuries and a top score of 61 to her name. Trent Rockets’ Nat Sciver-Brunt slipped to second in the list with 209 runs from five matches at an average of 69.66 and a strike rate of 134.83.

Laura Wolvaardt of the Manchester Originals is also in tremendous form, having notched 184 runs from five games. She has an average of 46 and a strike-rate of 141.53 with a half-century to her name. Alice Capsey, Annabel Sutherland, Paige Schofield, and Ellyse Perry are also among the runs.
